This book, divided into three parts, chronicles the history of Sudan from ancient times to the early 20th century. The author begins his historical journey in the first part, starting from the era of the Pharaohs, Ptolemies, and Romans. Within this context, he explores the kingdoms, sultanates, emirates, tribes, and religions of Sudan, as well as the migration of Arab tribes to the region. The book also covers Sudan’s contemporary interactions with the Mamluks and Ottomans, leading up to the Mahdist Revolution.
In the second part, the author delves into the events surrounding the suppression of the Mahdist Revolution and the 1889 Agreement. He also discusses Sudan’s geographical, agricultural, commercial, financial, and educational dimensions.
The final part of the book focuses on the biographies of Prince Omar Touson and the entities involved in the Egyptian economic expedition to Sudan. It describes their journey and the results they achieved.
